Classes are held in our dog training studio located in St. PetersBARK at 3001 Central Ave in the Grand Central District. Portions of class or speciality classes may be held outdoors in our beautiful city where you live, walk, and play everyday. We couldn’t imagine a more perfect classroom. Our favorite locations include: Seminole Park (Kenwood Neighborhood), Crescent Lake Park, Vinoy Park, and the St. Pete Pier.

Our class size is limited to 4 dogs to create a calm, stress-free training environment with lots of personal attention.

All dogs must have at least 2 DHPP booster shots and Rabies vaccine if 24 weeks or older, free of parasites, free of infectious disease, and in overall good health.

Proof of current vaccines (or titers) is required at first class.

Group classes are for dogs who are comfortable moving around in close proximity to unfamiliar dogs and people. If you’re unsure your dog is appropriate for class, consult with trainer prior to registration to discuss the best training option.

Class registration cancellations are only accepted with at least 24 hour notice; due to high demand and our goal to limit class size to provide a semi-private learning environment there are no makeup classes.

Class Descriptions
Length: 5 classes, 50 minute each Cost: $199 Prerequisite: Puppies should be 5 months and younger as of the start date Total Students: 6 Description: Join us for St. Pete’s ONLY Off Leash Puppy Kindergarten class! This essential class is the place to learn everything you need to know to lay a solid foundation for a healthy, happy pup! Come join other like-minded puppy owners to learn and play in a safe environment under the guidance of a certified professional trainer. Class Focus: potty/crate training, puppy mouthing/chewing, attention/name recognition, intro to basic manners (attention, sit, down, leash pulling prevention, come) cooperative care skills, socialization, confidence building, and FUN! Class Goals: The primary goal of this class is early socialization and prevention of common behavior problems. Have a puppy well on their way to being potty trained; who enjoys spending time in his crate and knows your household rules. Gain relief from puppy nipping, chewing, and jumping. Understand the true meaning of socialization, the importance of enrichment, and confidence building. Learn cooperative care skills so your dog learns to LOVE going to the vet for check ups.
Length: 6 classes, 1 hr each Cost: $245 (AKC S.T.A.R. test included) Prerequisite: Puppies should be 6 months and younger as of the start date of the class Total Students: 4 Description: A class designed to help puppies grow into well adjusted dogs that enjoy life and know your household rules. Young puppies are very impressionable and their experiences can have lasting effects on their behavior. We’ll give you tools you need to create a strong foundation while focusing on socialization skills, good manners, and confidence building. *** This class includes the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Curriculum. Students will have the opportunity to earn their S.T.A.R. Puppy Award if desired Class Focus: potty/crate training, puppy mouthing/chewing, attention/name recognition, sit, down, intro to loose leash walking, intro to coming when called, go to place, handling, socialization, confidence building, and FUN! Class Goals: Have a puppy well on their way to being potty trained; who enjoys spending time in his crate and knows your household rules. You will know how to properly manage your puppy to set him up for success so you enjoy living with your puppy. Gain relief from puppy nipping, chewing, and jumping. Understand the true meaning of socialization, the importance of enrichment, and confidence building. A toolbox to create and maintain a happy and healthy relationship with your dog. Successfully pass the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test (if desired)
Length: 6 classes, 1 hr each Cost: $245 Prerequisite: For dogs older than 10 months old or as a follow up to the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Manners Total Students: 4 Description: A class designed to teach you basic ‘obedience’ cues and show you how to transition those skills into everyday life skills. These skills can help tackle almost any behavior issue giving you a complete toolbox. Improve your dog’s reliability so you can enjoy living and doing things with your dog in our very dog-centric city. Class focus: functional application of life skills such as appropriate greetings, go to place, leave it, leash manners, coming when called, confidence building, continued socialization, enrichment, and FUN! Class Goals: Help your dog be the best dog they can be so you can enjoy all of what St. Pete has to offer WITH YOUR DOG. Walk your dog with confidence and enjoyment. Be proud of your dog’s behavior around friends and family. Feel empowered knowing you have the know-how to replace undesirable behaviors with more desirable ones. Become part of a community that enjoys living life in our city with their dog.
Length: 4 classes, 1 hr each Cost: $165 Prerequisite: All ages welcome. Dogs should have some prior training experience to get the most out of the class. Total Students: 4 This 4-week class is focused on giving you skills you need to enjoy walking your dog in an urban environment. A dog that pulls, jumps, and gets easily distracted can be absolutely exhausting. Overtime, walks become frustrating and few and far between. Join us to learn skills to enjoy walking your dog! Class focus: ✔️ learn how to motivate your dog to pay attention to you ✔️ urban handling techniques & dog walking etiquette ✔️ techniques to teach polite walking behavior ✔️what to do if your dog forges ahead ✔️how to handle distractions and set you up for success, and more! This class will be held outdoor in the real world so you can start honing your skills right away.
Length: 1 workshop, 90 minutes Cost: $65 Prerequisite: All ages welcome. Dogs should have some prior training experience to get the most out of the workshop. Total Students: 4 This 90 minute workshop is designed to introduce you to training a consistent recall (come when called) - one of the most important skills to teach a dog. One day it might even save your dog's life! Workshop focus: • the importance of using a long-line • why dogs don't come when we call • establishing a recall cue • games to practice recall skills • what to do if your dog doesn't respond • establishing an emergency recall
Length: 1 workshop, 60 minutes Cost: $45 Prerequisite: This class is for dog owners who have completed private one-on-one training sessions or a class with SPDW. Total Students: 6 This workshop is a fun and functional way to give you an opportunity to tune up your dog’s manners, social skills, network, and make new friends with the added value of trainer direction. These hour long workshops will be scheduled monthly at different locations to allow you to work on different skill sets. Let’s face it, if you don’t use it, you lose it! If you’d like to work on: ✔️ continued socialization, exposure & neutrality ✔️ polite greetings with other people and/or dogs ✔️ improve your dogs reliability at coming when called ✔️ reducing your dogs pulling making walks more enjoyable ✔️ teaching your dog to chill out while enjoying a drink or dining al fresco ✔️ helping your dog to make better choices ✔️ meeting new people, having FUN with your DOG, and MORE!
